• Music video inspires new travel trend

Grammy-award winning artist Pharrell Williams recently created the world's first 24-hour music video for his hit single, "Happy." The song, which was nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards, was written for the movie "Despicable Me 2," but has seen an increasing amount of popularity recently due to its innovative video.

On its website, 24hoursofhappy.com, visitors can watch a number of separate 5-minute videos that feature people from around Los Angeles dancing to the song. The website runs through the duration of the day, and restarts at midnight. The video premiered in November, but an emerging trend has risen among visitors to different countries around the world. People have begun to create and post their own dancing videos during their trips, whether they're going on an Africa travel adventure or experiencing South America travel.

Condé Nast Traveler highlighted a select few of the participating international cities, including Paris, Sydney and Singapore. Each video captures the essence of Williams' original, featuring smiling faces of passersby dancing to the catchy tune. Some of the videos have amassed hundreds of thousands of views, with Paris' display earning the most with nearly 1 million.
