Climate: Ecuador has a series of microclimates that vary greatly by location. Lowland areas both along the coast, and in the Amazon region are hot year-round. While the Amazon region consistently stays humid and wet all year, the coast has a humid rainy season from December until May. Many of Ecuador's larger cities, including the capital city Quito are found in the highlands. Here temperatures are much cooler and there is a subtropical climate. Quito boasts a near constant annual temperature, with average highs in the mid-60s° F, and lows in the upper 40s° F. A dry season also occurs from June through September. Offshore, the Galapagos Islands, which lie in the Pacific Ocean, have a consistently dry climate and a steady average temperature in the upper 70s° F.

If you travel to Ecuador with a device that does not accept 120 or 127 Volts at 60 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter.
