TripAdvisor comes to the iPhone

The iPhone's large variety of apps has turned it into a digital Swiss army knife for travelers. With a built-in GPS locator and apps for almost everything, the iPhone may be the frequent traveler's new best friend.
With the unveiling of the new TripAdvisor app, the iPhone's travel capabilities just got a little more powerful. TripAdvisor is a popular website that allows users to submit reviews of hotels, attractions, and destinations.
"Our iPhone app gives people in 20 countries and 13 languages a new way to access the more than 35 million traveler reviews and opinions available on TripAdvisor," said Steve Kaufer, founder and CEO of TripAdvisor.
The free app also allows users to search flights and hotels, and sort the findings by price, rating, and other factors.
TripAdvisor isn't the only travel app that users should consider downloading. Skype allows users to chat with people from around the globe, LonelyPlanet offers a paid app that will translate any phrase, and UrbanSpoon will point users to restaurants no matter where they're travelling.
With all these options, iPhone users can leave the travel guide at home. They've got one in their pocket.
