Picking toys for the perennial traveler
2009-11-16
With the holidays just around the corner, many people are trying to get a jump
on their shopping lists before the Yule time crowds mob America's shopping
centers and turn its parking lots into unaccommodating mazes of frustration. For
those shoppers with travelers on their list, there are a few new tech toys that
may turn heads this year.
One toy gracing many lists of this year's top
travel gadgets is the 3M Mpro 120 pocket projector, a mini film projector small
enough to fit in the palm of one's hands yet powerful enough to project a
50-inch image. The $330 projector can display photos, PowerPoint presentations
and video from a laptop, camcorder or even a smartphone according to
networld.com.
For the more conventional tech-savvy traveler NetWorld
recommends the new Samsonite Checkmate II series of luggage, which the online
technophile magazine calls "really, really easy to live out of this bag. You can
fit a ton with absolute ease."
Of course there are also recommendations
for the easily lost travelers, such as Tom Tom's new line of widescreen GPS
units and the Nextar's inventive M3 GPS system.
