According to the National Association of Wedding Ministers, June and August are the most popular months for weddings. This means that millions of couples around the world are currently preparing for their upcoming nuptials and the inevitable honeymoon to follow. While a number of couples may be scaling back their travel plans due to the economy, a new contest is offering prospective newlyweds the chance to sample honeymoon locations around the globe.
One winning couple will get to relive their honeymoon bliss over and over again, as they tour the world's top five-star resorts, maintain a travel blog of their experiences and write a monthly column for the Irish Times. Contestants will also be given nearly $27,000 for their troubles.
The contest invites couples of all ages, nationalities and orientations to submit short YouTube videos detailing why they believe that Ireland is a great destination for a wedding location, and why they would be the perfect pair for the contest's grand prize.
Details of the winners' intended destinations have yet to be revealed, though Jaunted.com suggests that travelers may be heading to both Kenya and Zanzibar on their travels.
