While just thirty years ago there was no such thing as a travel gadget, a rapid advance in technology has made them an ingrained part of any vacation. The latest travel gadget news show that many travelers consider their gadgets to be essential for their trips.
Dixon Travel and Lowcostholidays.com recently surveyed users as to what travel gadgets they considered necessary for a good vacation, according to the UK Press Association. The survey's results were not shocking: many now need multiple devices to get them through a trip.
Although many look forward to disconnecting while they're on vacation, 87 percent use cell phones while away, with 46 percent using texts to communicate with those back home. Mobile phones were also used by 40 percent to take pictures, with 43 percent uploading the pictures on Facebook when they got back.
Other popular answers to essential devices included MP3 players, at 46 percent, and hair-related appliances at 40 percent.
However, the way travelers like to relax most was actually non-technological, with most responding that they like to sit back and take in a good book.
