Adventure awaits south of the border

Thrillseekers and adrenaline junkies are always looking for their next rush. It might be easy to forget about the large country south of the border when planning adventure travel, but Mexico offers vacationers a wide variety of activities.
The Baja Peninsula, just south of California, is a great example of this. Cabo San Lucas is a great place to begin planning excursions. Many of the companies here rely on the dollars brought in by tourism, so visitors will be able to find a host of options for just about anything they want to do.
Perhaps that's an ATV excursion into the nearby Mexican jungle, or maybe travelers want to learn to surf in the Baja coast's famous waves.
And for days off from all the thrills, there are plenty of relaxing activities, like whale watching, snorkeling or simply lying on the beautiful beaches.
Mexico travel does not have to be all about lying on the beach or exploring the country's cultural history. Adventure travelers will find a lot to love about the country, but should be sure to purchase travel insurance if they plan to engage in any particularly hazardous activities.
