This unique region has many offerings for guests to indulge in during the winter, including winter sports and admiring the gorgeous shoreline.
What's different about Cape Elizabeth is that is has some wonderful cross-country skiing trails that follow right along the ocean edge. According to The Washington Post, many of the cozy inns in town offer easy ski-in and ski-out guest rooms so travelers can hit the trails right away.
Some tour groups will rent out equipment to those who wish to try skiing in the area. Instructors are available for lessons, or visitors can simply take to the snow on their own and begin their relaxing glide along the shore.
There are plenty of other things to see and do in town as well. According to the Cape Elizabeth tourism board, vacationers taking a honeymoon travel trip or hosting a family reunion can visit the scenic Portland Lighthouse or grab a bite to eat at a fresh seafood shack in town.
