Turkey is a rich and exotic country that may be perfect for an unforgettable destination for an upcoming vacation. Baby boomers may especially enjoy the city of Bursa, as it hosts a wondrous array of entertainment options as well as opportunities to learn about ancient history and culture.
Those who would like to simply soak up the city atmosphere have several places to stroll though in Bursa. According to Lonely Planet, the Sultan II Murat Camii park is a charming area full of lush vegetation and a mosque that dates back to the 1400s. For a livelier environment, travelers can visit the Kapali Carsi marketplace and pick up some famous Turkish bathrobes or towels.
One of the more iconic structures to see in Bursa is the Green Tomb, reports Frommer’s. Although the domed building is actually more blue than it is green, it still is a gorgeous display of ancient architecture and design, created for Sultan Mehmet I in 1421. He is now buried at the site, surrounded by scripted walls and intricate detailing.
