The area in and around Auckland in New Zealand is prime location for travelers who crave adventure.
The New Zealand Herald recently profiled some places near the city where vacationers can get their adrenaline fix. Looking at some of the choices, it appears that those who want to experience the wonder of flight will have ample opportunity to do so.
There are three companies in the area that will all send travelers hurtling through the sky for a nominal fee. Some might be instantly sold on SkyFlight at the Sky Tower, which is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. This 11 second drop will have travelers approaching speeds close to 55 miles per hour before arriving safely just above the ground. A similar option is jumping off the Auckland Harbor Bridge, where expert safety coordinators will be able to rig jumpers so that they safely graze the water on their descent. And for those who would feel safer inside a vehicle, the company XFlight takes travelers up in a stunt plane that loops, rolls and dives.
With all these options for heart-pounding excitement, Auckland might just have to be placed near the top of adventure travelers' must-visit destinations.
