    Here are three travel tricks and tips for senior travelers who are ready to embark on an adventure travel trip:

    Be flexible
    One of the best parts of traveling in your later years is the ability to be flexible with your plans. With no work responsibilities or vacation days to manage, you can create experiences that are as long as you want - and you can also take advantage of lower rates during off-peak times.

    You should embrace this flexibility as you plan a trip. While some jet-setters are limited by school vacations or work holidays, you have the freedom to plan trips at any time of year. This can be tremendously helpful for avoiding crowded airports of expensive air travel, not to mention bypassing heavy crowds in major attractions in your destination.

    See a doctor beforehand
    You may have to travel with medications or prescriptions. If that's the case, you should schedule an appointment with your physician to go over some of the risks of traveling. An expert can clue you in as to how you should deal with medical issues abroad, as well as how to safely and properly transport your medicine. You should also have an official prescription from your doctor for any pills. It's not uncommon for security or customs officers to question the presence of medicine, and having the proof can eliminate any of these obstacles.

    Get up during flights
    Sitting for long flights can affect your muscles and joints. Be sure to break up your trips with a few laps around the plane, which stretches your muscles and gets the blood flowing properly throughout your body. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water during this time as well, as this will prevent you from becoming dehydrated in the dry cabin air. Some health conditions can cause you to be more prone to dehydration, so it is essential to force yourself to drink water even if you would rather sleep or have a different beverage instead.
