  • The best spots to experience unspoiled wilderness

Whether it be cultural experiences, historical appeal or modern attractions, people travel for a variety of reasons, and one of the most common is natural highlights. There is a long list of Mother Nature's landmarks that even the most casual adventure travel enthusiast can enjoy, but according to CNN there are a few that stand above the rest.

    Knoydart Peninsula, Scotland
This spectacular area of Scotland is one of the last remaining unspoiled regions of the country. In fact, you can only get there by foot or on the deck of a boat. Nearly anywhere you travel throughout this southern Scotland gem will provide you with gorgeous views. The landscape is peppered with majestic mountains including Ladhar Bheinn and Sgùrr na Cìche?, found beside the banks of two pristine lakes. There are guided trips that can bring you to the best places in this vast wilderness.

    Great Bear Rainforest, Canada
It may seem odd that a rainforest is located in Canada - after all, the most famous ones lie in the tropics. However, this natural spectacle is one of the most beautiful spots in North America. Among its most impressive features is its many red cedar trees, some of which are well over 1,000 years. The rainforest is also home to many of the continent's most well-known wildlife, from wolves and cougars to bears and eagles, according to CNN.

    Kakadu National Park, Australia
Few countries are more known for their unspoiled wilderness than Australia, and this is especially true in Kakadu National Park. Located in the northernmost part of the country, the park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and also offers some of the most awe-inspiring sights you're likely to find anywhere else in the world. Not only that, but many of the park's caves are adorned with Aboriginal artwork that dates back to some of the earliest civilizations to call Australia home.

    The Bohuslän coast, Sweden
Scandinavia has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and on the western coast of Sweden is probably the best place to experience it. The coastal region will make you feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are thousands of islands you can stop at along the way, many of which are home to hotels, restaurants and other amenities.
