  • Tel Aviv makes for a wonderful exotic destination to explore on vacation

    2011-12-21

To experience some fantastic world cultures, travelers can make plans to head to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, this winter for a truly unique travel experience. Although many historical attractions are nearby, the heart of this city is very modern, offering guests a wealth of activities and entertainment options to delight those on a great Middle Eastern getaway.

If travelers only have time for one museum, the Beit Hatfutzot should not be missed. According to Frommer's, this establishment covers more than 2,500 years of Jewish history with displays that include films, maps, and full-scale models of historical synagogues, shops and homes.

A pretty shoreline that lies a short distance from the downtown area is Bat Yam beach. The swimming and sun tanning there is wonderful, but travelers should check to see what the current conditions are before swimming, as there can be a strong undertow.

Baby boomers who wish to have a memorable meal during their night on the town can make reservations at the wonderfully elegant Messa, reports Fodor's. Run by esteemed Chef Aviv Moshe, the decor is stylish and whitewashed and the dishes offer clean and delectable options. Entrees include an eggplant and shrimp dish with citrus butter.
