Taste some superb wines at Montgomery, Alabama’s annual festival

Although Alabama is not known for its vineyards, this does not stop the state from celebrating the art of crafting this tasty beverage at the annual Riverwalk Wine Festival. According to the event’s website, this fun and festive occasion showcases more than 100 wineries from local establishment and across the globe.
Travelers who wish to participate can purchase a ticket and take part in various activities that occur in early October. Guests can sample some new wines or their old favorites at the different tasting stations, offered by 11 distinct distributors. There are also food pairings available to go along with the wines, or guests can bring their own picnic basket of goodies. While choosing what bottles to bring home at discounted rates, participants can enjoy live musical performances as well.
Montgomery is a beautiful city to visit at any time of year. Travelers in the area may also want to stroll along the National Historic Trail, reports Fodor’s. Activist Martin Luther King once demonstrated his political standings along this route with speeches and peaceful protests.
