Those who enjoy a hearty hike can journey to the Carambola Botanical Gardens for a climb to the summit of Mount Carambola. From there, guests may catch a gorgeous panoramic view of the islands and beautiful blue ocean. The flora and fauna in this nature reserve is fantastic as well, boasting species like orchids, fruit trees and spice plants.
To get up close and personal with some scaly creatures, Arch's Iguana Farm should be the next stop on a traveler's itinerary in Roatan. This facility is home to more than 3,000 iguanas, many of which roam free through the trees and along the pond that is also where some sea turtles and conches live.
