Take a cue from Prince William and vacation in Kenya
2010-12-09
The royal engagement between Prince William of Wales and his girlfriend Kate Middleton has caught the attention of travelers everywhere. While most are planning trips to London, others who do not plan to follow the crowd may want to take a cue from Wills himself and head to Kenya, where he got down on one knee and popped the question.
Tourists should consider checking out Sirikoi Camp in Lewa Downs, where the sovereign couple vacationed this summer. In this area, guests will wake up to the music of the birds as they celebrate the rising sun.
Vacationers are able to camp out at Sirikoi among the native animals, and can take a safari tour of the land to see giraffes, zebras, impalas and elephants. Lewa is actually a rhinoceros sanctuary and is home to more than 60 of the horned beast.
When hunger sets in, there is plenty of delicious food to be consumed. Sirikoi uses ingredients that are all locally grown so that visitors can have fresh fruits and vegetables in their meals.
Don't forget to bring a camera on this trip to not only snap pictures of the wild animals, but to capture the beautiful colors brought about in the sunset.
