Starwood introduces advanced customer service with FaceTime

The hospitality and tourism industries have been making great use of technological advances in recent years, especially with the introduction of many convenient Apple products. While some hotels are implementing the use of iPads for ordering food and other services, Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will begin using the company's video calling feature for customer service communication.
FaceTime is an application that is available on the latest edition of Apple's iPhone 4, iPod touch and Mac computers. All guests must do to initiate a call to customer service is to dial the hotline from their portable device, which will immediately connect them with a Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) representative.
"Starwood Hotels is proud to offer face-to-face video calling for SPG members with FaceTime. Apple's innovative technology allows us to provide meaningful, personalized experience that will resonate with our most loyal customers," vice president of Global Web Services for the hotel, David Godsman, said in a press release.
SPG representatives will be able to assists guests with making and changing reservations, viewing account balances and much more.
