Smart pens: a helpful gadget for business travelers
2010-12-06
Business travelers who have to attend presentations and conferences may appreciate any gadget that promises to decrease their stress level and simplify one of the many tasks they have to juggle.
Taking notes during a presentation and trying to make sense of them later can be a hassle, and the LiveScribe Echo Smartpen is one travel gadget that seeks to make the experience easier, the Associated Press reports.
The pen records audio, and allows users to write less down when taking notes. Travelers attending a conference or meeting can simply write down keywords, which will allow them to recall the particular section of the audio recording they need when going over their notes after the meeting. It is reportedly compatible with Macs and PCs, and its battery is claimed to last up to six hours when recording.
One potential inconvenience posed by the pen is that it only works with special paper that users must purchase from the company. Frequent business travelers may find this a small price to pay for the convenience of taking notes efficiently and recalling them easily.
