The city of Zakopane, Poland, may be well worth bundling up for because of its wonderful wintry activities and beautiful scenic landscapes. Travelers to this region can delight in the unique architectural design of its buildings and the welcoming atmosphere that allows for a fun and relaxing trip.
Skiers must spend some time at the Kasprowy Wierch Mountain to experience some serious slopes, Lonely Planet reports. This pretty landscape allows for visitors to make a quick trip to another country as well, as the borders between Poland and Slovenia meet at the summit.
The best examples of this city's soul may be seen at the Museum of Zakopane Style. According to Frommer's, many houses, churches and shops are built from wood and portray the idealizations of architect Stanislaw Witiewicz. Some of the houses on display at this complex also have ornately carved interiors with furnishing and galleries.
If travelers desire a fine dining experience, they may enjoy a tranquil evening at the Kalina restaurant. Not only is pork presented in a variety of ways on the menu, they also have some other tasty dishes, such as roast duck and pierogies.
