If travelers are feeling up for a thrilling adventure, they may consider a trip to Dunedin. This area is located south of Queensland and Christchurch and makes for an amazing locale to explore, especially for a wild girl's getaway at a new destination. Those interested in Australia & New Zealand travel can check out Dunedin's array of outdoor activities, attractions and historical landmarks while on vacation.

Travelers can see first-hand the rare yellow-eyed penguin at a fun facility called the Penguin Place. According to Frommer's, this complex offers guided tours to learn about the flightless birds then brings guests to their breeding grounds in nearby manmade tunnels.

To witness some local architectural grandeur, guests in Dunedin can make plans for visiting Olveston. The elegant house was constructed in the early 1900s and boasts Jacobean-style features. Travelers may also catch a glimpse of more than 250 original paintings inside.

The Dunedin tourism website reports that a large percentage of the town's population is students attending Otago University. Travelers can admire some of the stunning vegetation and layout of the grounds while strolling around campus.
