Prince William's wedding expected to bring tourism to London
2010-11-22
While the people of England celebrate Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton, local tourism officials are already estimating the benefits it could have to England's tourism industry.
James Berresford, the chief executive of VisitEngland, is one such optimist. He told AOL Travel that he sees the wedding, which is set to take place April 29, 2011 in London, as a chance to showcase to visitors all that is great about England. He predicts thousands of international travelers generated by the wedding and the festivities that will surround it.
"It will be turned into a huge celebration and that's absolutely for sure. I can assure you that people will be celebrating up and down the length and breadth of the land," Berresford said.
Travel packages are expected to become available soon, the news source reports.
