Prime ski season is far from over, especially in some of the colder regions of the world. For instance, if baby boomers wish to hit the slopes, they may consider an adventure travel trip to Alaska. The majestic mountains are ideal for perfect snow conditions and there are plenty of different resorts to explore.
According to MapQuest's travel guide, one of the best locales for skiing is near the state's capital. Eaglecrest Ski Area has more than 600 acres of land for skiers and snowboarders so winter sports enthusiasts can spread out and enjoy the scenery. It's known to be good for beginners as well as experts, and the facility uses a lot of natural snow on their trails, as they get roughly 300 inches a year.
Not only is the skiing fantastic in Alaska, there are many other things to see and do throughout the state. If travelers are near Juneau visiting Eaglecrest, they can also experience Marine Park to relax and mingle with the locals, reports Lonely Planet. This area is open to the public and has beautiful views of Mt. Juneau. There are even free binoculars to use for spotting mountain goats and other wildlife.
