Language is the best tool to improve life abroad

For millions of students and professionals moving abroad for work or school, the
biggest obstacle that they face upon arriving in their new home is the new
country's native language. From the moment they step off the plane, these
travelers are confronted with the undeniable fact that they are in a stranger in
a foreign land. With this in mind, one of the greatest ways to ease into life
abroad is to master the language
Mastering a foreign language is in no
way easy, but there will never be a better opportunity than while living abroad.
Visitors are immersed in the language while living in a foreign country. People
speak it in the streets, on the train, at the store, in restaurants - and it is
this ubiquity that will make the language easier to recognize, study and apply.
Most developed countries will have language schools where foreigners can
enroll to learn the native tongue. In addition to being a great way to learn to
speak, these classes also provide an excellent opportunity to meet people in the
same situation.
For those who prefer self study, audio or video
instruction programs are preferred to simple books. While the writing aspect of
a foreign language is also tremendously important, the pronunciation and
intonation of foreign languages (particularly in dialect heavy countries like
Spain and China) can make all the difference in a conversation.
