• Lake Tahoe, a perfect place for family travel

    2013-04-25

Traveling as a family is undoubtedly a rewarding experience, but it can often be difficult to find destinations that appeal to everyone. It's certainly hard to please everyone, but according to recent rankings from FamilyFun magazine, the Lake Tahoe region on the border of California and Nevada will be a good pick. Natural beauty, plenty of activities and recreational opportunities make the area one of the most popular United States travel destinations - and with good reason.

Regardless of what time of year you visit, Lake Tahoe is famous for its many active pursuits. There is something for everyone, whether your family prefers skiing and snowboarding, hiking, camping or cycling, you can experience the pristine landscape in a wide variety of ways. If you happen to visit during the warmer months, you should also make a point to relax along the lake's beautiful shores at Baldwin Beach, Connolly Beach or Pope Beach.

The summer at Lake Tahoe is also famous for its many events. For instance, at Incline Village on the lake's north shore, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival puts on a play each night over the course of two weeks. Aside from adding some cultural enrichment to your travels, the setting of Sand Harbor helps lend a unique element to the festivities.
