Hello Sailor! gives us a look into a secret marine life

While many people may have a fascination with sailors and life at sea, a new exhibit looks to give a completely unique take on what it's like to spend the majority of one's life on a boat.
The exhibit, which will be displayed in Halifax, will teach visitors about the secret lives of gay sailors who worked on Canadian and British ships between the 1950s and today, according to the Toronto Sun. Given that little is known about the gay and lesbian culture of mariners, this exhibit will surely be eye-opening.
The news provider reports that the exhibit, entitled "Hello Sailor! Gay Life on the Ocean Wave," will be held at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, running until November 27. Some of the exhibit includes photographs of seamen dressed in drag.
The museum's website reports that the exhibit comes from the adaptation of a display at the National Museums Liverpool in England. However, that exhibit only looks at sailors' secret lives up until the '80s.
