    2012-04-12

If travelers want to plan a trip with just the boys, they may be wary of heading to a Dutch festival called Pinkpop. However, this is not a ladies' only festival, as the event features some amazing internationally popular bands and three days of musical festivities for spectators to delight in. Seeing great concerts in the Netherlands can be a fun way to experience foreign and familiar cultures while enjoying an adventure travel excursion.

Pinkpop will feature nearly 40 acts at several massive stages in the town of Landgraaf over the last weekend in May. Thousands from across the world will gather to enjoy several days of music, dancing and singing at this festival, one of the biggest in the country. Past events have included performances from some of the most popular artists in the world, and this year will surely not disappoint.

Some of the biggest bands to play Pinkpop this year are Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, The Cure and Ben Howard, while other headliners include Kasabian, Mumford and Sons, Linkin Park, and The Ting Tings. These acts will be accompanied by several talented, local performers as well.

Those who wish to learn more about the offerings at Pinkpop can head to social media websites like Twitter and Facebook, as many fans have gathered online to share tips, tricks and experiences of the event.

Landgraaf is located close to both the Belgian and German borders, so travelers may wish to rent a car and cruise to some of the major cities and attractions in the area. Only a few miles away is Dusseldorf, Germany, a city that is full of historical landmarks and great entertainment options for the boys to check out. According to Lonely Planet, the Marktplatz may be a good place to start for trendy nightlife and places to sample delicious German cuisine. The Medienhafen area is also where many of the young locals and tourists hang out for drinks, go clubbing and stay in stylish modern hotels.

Taking a trip to The Netherlands and seeing the festival paired with some side trips to surrounding cities can be a unique and thrilling way to experience a new destination with just the guys.
