Travelers who are looking for a spring getaway may want to consider heading to the west coast to the beautiful city of Seattle, Washington. The metropolis offers fabulous museums, amazing restaurants and wonderful places to shop.
Foodies will have to visit the stunning Pike Place Market, located in the heart of Seattle's downtown area. It has been around since 1907 and thousands of locals and tourists come the building every year to purchase fresh produce that comes directly from farmers. One of the most exciting things to see here is the fish vendors passing salmon to each other by hurling it across their shops.
Travelers who will be vacationing with kids can bring them to the Waterfront's Seattle Aquarium, conveniently located near Pike Place Market. Guests will get to watch water shows and check out their permanent attractions, such as the Pacific Coral Reef exhibit. Both children and adults will enjoy viewing the huge underwater Dome that is home to several sharks and octopi.
Finally, no trip to Seattle is complete without visiting the iconic Space Needle. Head to Queen Anne to see this unique and futuristic structure. Vacationers can go to the top of the building where they can get a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city. However, travelers should note that the wait can be up to an hour.
