  • Great destinations for a spring getaway

    2011-03-17

The days are longer, the weather is beginning to get warmer and many travelers are starting to plan quick getaways to take advantage of the changing season. There are plenty of locations around the globe that are perfect for this time of year that offer amazing beaches and exciting activities.

Vacationers can head to Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean next month to try their hand at sailing. The islands host a number of events, such as the Classic Yacht Regatta and Antigua Sailing Week. Both enthusiasts and novices can bask in the warm sun and the cool breeze of the trade winds while relaxing on magnificent boats. Additionally, tourists can sunbathe and swim on one of the islands' glorious 365 beaches.

Travelers who are looking for a weekend getaway in a city may want to check out New Orleans. There is always something to do in the Big Easy and during the spring, tourists will have a fully packed itinerary, as they can visit the Jazz Fest, which is held on April 29 through May 8.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico, is another fabulous spring destination where vacationers cans chill out in its stunning beaches and beautiful parks.
