Finding the perfect cocktail in Paris
2010-11-01
Many Paris bars have chosen to specialize in creating new and unique concoctions due to the rise in cocktail culture in many metropolitan areas.
La Conserverie is known by locals and frequent visitors to the city mostly through word-of-mouth praise, the New York Times reports. Tim, the bartender of the establishment, crafted the recipes for many of the cocktails offered, including a drink called Bird Tongue, made of various spices, sake and white balsamic vinegar.
The Curio Parlor markets itself to visitors with a speakeasy-style interior. Highlights of the Parlor's offerings include a concoction from whiskey, lemongrass and basil.
Indulging in a drink at one of these two establishments may require some curiosity and an adventurous palate, but Paris has plenty to offer for classic-cocktail enthusiasts, too. The Bar Hemingway at the Ritz serves its patrons classic cocktails like the Manhattan, mixed perfectly and made of only premium ingredients, with a hefty price tag that matches the luxurious quality, according to the news source.
Le Doudingue, located in charming Montmartre, features Moroccan decor and also mixes classic drinks like mojitos and martinis with consummate skill.
