2011-12-07
Creative personalities who find art a thrilling natural experience may wish to find time to attend Birds of a Feather: Nature and Art Together. Held at the MacEwan Field Station & Visual Arts Mississauga Art Centre in Riverwood Park, Mississauga, the event combines environmental and artistic learning into one fun-filled occasion.
From January 3-5, 2012, the Riverwood Conservatory will offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about nature and how our feathered friends conduct themselves. The excursion will begin with a teacher-led nature walk through a park where guests are provided with seed to feed wild birds. After a mug of hot chocolate, visitors will be invited into the visual arts center to create Chickadee art inspired pieces.
This three-day event could make an entertaining field trip for children. Learning about conservation and the animals humans share the Earth with can provide a sense of wonder and understanding for children. The Riverwood Conservatory is providing guests the chance to learn about these tiny creatures and instill a sense of wonder about the world and all of its creatures.
