Choosing the right travel adapter in India

Although India was once under British colonial rule, UK travel adapters will not work in the country. Travelers will need to buy a separate India travel adapter if they plan on traveling within the country. India's sockets look like three circles arranged in a triangular formation. However, the top circle is quite a bit larger than the bottom two. There are also other plugs, used for bigger appliances, that are in the same general shape but with much bigger holes and prongs.
