A truly delicious festival in Mexico
2010-07-22
Empty nesters and older couples know that the finer things in life take time. As they've aged, they may have begun to appreciate things like good food and good wine. Fortunately, August is a great time to experience both in Mexico.
From August 5th to the 22nd, the city of Ensenada and its surrounding wine valleys will throw a massive food and wine festival. For the first time ever, the event will extend into nearby cities like Tijuana.
For three weeks, couples can be in food and wine heaven. The festival has events lined up for every single day of the festival. In addition to the usual wine tastings, concerts and dinners, there will be a bullfight, paella competition, street fair and tango dancing. Eighteen wineries will participate in over 40 events. Couples can eat, drink and be merry for as long as they like.
And even if they want a break from all the revelry, Mexico is still considered to be a top destination for romantic vacations. Many newlyweds choose to vacation here, and the country's mixture of beautiful natural scenery and relaxing beaches are a big reason why.
It's a great time to visit Mexico - made even greater by the fact that some airlines are offering special discounts to the region in light of the festival.
