With the increasing popularity of smartphones all over the world, developers are creating mobile applications in order to boost tourism and make navigating new areas less stressful. European Cities Marketing recently announced that it will be releasing an application for the Android phone, allowing travelers to access guides to 35 different cities in Europe.
Tourists can find maps of various landmarks and attractions, using the phone's GPS feature to make finding each location easier. Users can even save their favorite venues in the app and also find different walking routes from place to place.
"This is the great end-product of 35 cities sharing knowledge and working together constructively. In the future, other cities will hopefully follow and acknowledge the added value for visitors through this unique cooperation," said Wendy Sieger-Kintzen of the European City Card Group. "With the forecasted growth of Android in the forthcoming years, we hope to reach and serve many more visitors."
Some cities that the app features include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Dublin, London, Prague, Ljubljana, Stockholm and many more.
