Travel Guard Receives Patriot Award
Stevens Point, WI (January 22, 2010) – Travel Guard today received the Patriot Award, an honor bestowed on the company for the exceptional support of its employees who serve in the Army National Guard and Reserve. The award recognizes outstanding employers across the United States who go above and beyond the legal requirements for granting leave and providing support for their active military employees. The company was nominated for the award by Staff Sergeant Calvin Friendenfels, a software engineer in Travel Guard’s IT department who is currently on active duty and deployed in Iraq.
“We are honored to accept this award,” said Dean Sivley, Chief Executive Officer of Travel Guard, North America. “It truly is our privilege to do whatever we can to lighten the load for all of our employees who are serving our country. Defending our country is more than just service; it is a selfless act that requires a great deal of personal sacrifice. Our servicemen not only answer the call of duty, but understand and represent the Army’s values of loyalty, duty, respect, honor, integrity and personal courage.”
Travel Guard supports active military members by accommodating their schedules, whether it be an overseas deployment or several days of training. In addition, Travel Guard is proud to offer its deployed military employees the same job status upon return to the United States, as well as full benefits and pay for a year while overseas.
