In Touch At Travel Guard, we talk a lot about our company culture and how it makes us a unique employer and business partner. But what’s behind all the culture talk? What is it exactly that makes us the company we are today? In Touch, a new periodic feature in The Source, will highlight the company events and traditions that contribute to Travel Guard’s success and have helped make us known as “the company that cares.” Look for more In Touch in future issues of The Source. ![]() Fifty Degree Day Party For those of you who haven’t felt the grip of a Wisconsin winter, you may think the idea of a 50 degree party arbitrary, even capricious. But for anyone who has faced the stark reality of pulling on your first sweater in September and hardening your resolve to the fact that your shoulders won’t feel the warmth of the sun for seven more months, you understand that the first 50 degree day of Spring is no joke. That’s why, at Travel Guard’s Stevens Point, Wisconsin headquarters, every spring on the day the mercury first reaches 50, Travel Guard provides a picnic lunch prepared and served to employees by the company’s top executives. An open invitation to the cookout is sent company-wide and to local business partners. The smell of burgers and spring fills the air for blocks as coworkers take off their jackets and air out their smiles after Wisconsin’s long winter. Besides being an excuse to get outside and away from computer screens, there are other benefits to nurturing connections among employees and departments. “Many companies say that their employees are their most important asset; we truly believe it,” said Bob Worden, Executive Vice President, Travel Guard Operations. “Leaders of all levels at Travel Guard invest heavily in employee satisfaction. The working environment and opportunities we provide to our employees help us attract and retain the cream of the crop and help keep our employees happy, and subsequently, our customers.” |
