Q. Does everyone need to purchase the insurance?
A. Your travel package automatically includes the " Post Departure Insurance". The SPF 24/7 and SPF 24/7 Holiday Plan are optional and are on a per person basis. Should you choose to upgrade your plan, every traveler listed on the reservation must purchase this plan.
Q. What are the main differences with The Post Departure Plan, SPF 24/7 Plan, SPF 24/7 Holiday Plan?
A. The Post Departure Protection Plan is automatically included in all bookings. Post-departure coverage begins the moment travelers embark on their journey, covering trip delays due to documented traffic accident en route to the airport, baggage claims, medical expenses, and more. For the ultimate coverage, our all-new SPF 24/7 plan combines the industry's most comprehensive Cancel for Any Reason pre departure coverage, with upgraded post departure insurance by Travel Guard. Pre-departure coverage gives travelers the freedom to cancel or change any portion of their vacation for any reason prior to scheduled flight departure time, without paying any cancellation penalties, and as an exclusive added benefit, travel agent commission is protected when the trip is paid in full. Coverage includes cancellation for any reason up to departure time. This new product includes more benefits and fewer restrictions, and also protects agent commission. The SPF 24/7 Holiday Plan provides the same benefits as the SPF 24/7 Plan, however is applicable for the holiday season with a variation in the cancellation terms. Cancellation for holiday travel are for named reasons only, such as illness, accidents, etc.)
Q. What happens if someone not traveling becomes ill or passes away? Is this covered?
A. An illness or death of a family member not traveling with you would be covered, however, the same pre-existing clause would apply. The definition of a family member is included in the Description of Coverage.
Q. When does the coverage begin?
A. All benefits become effective the date and time you start your trip and after the appropriate plan cost has been paid.
