Noel Compass Scholars Program
In 1996, John and Patty Noel created the Noel Compass Scholarship Program to encourage and reward academic achievement, leadership and citizenship among students of color in Wisconsin's urban communities. The program is a privately funded initiative that offers an academic scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a paid internship within Travel Guard. The Noel Compass Scholarship offers students the opportunity to gain a quality post-secondary education as well as meaningful career experience - two important elements to a student's future success.
The program’s success has exceeded expectations as the Stevens Point community, Travel Guard employees, and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have been greatly impacted through the diversity of these dynamic students. Best of all, Travel Guard employees have embraced these students and consider them a part of their extended families. As a result of the tremendous support and encouragement received, the students are far more likely to stay in school and earn their degrees.
