Franklin Covey Presents Humanitarian Service Award to Noel Group Founders

Salt Lake City, Utah -- Franklin Covey announced the presentation of the Franklin Covey Humanitarian Service Award to John and Patty Noel, founders of the Noel Group, for demonstrating a willingness to reach out to improve the quality of life for individuals, groups, or humankind. The Humanitarian Service Award is given to outstanding individuals who embody the principles that are embraced and taught around the world by associates from the Franklin Covey organization.

"John and Patty Noel's philanthropic efforts extend as far as Africa where they have founded orphanages to treat HIV positive babies, and to their involvement in Nelson Mandela's Childrens' Fund," said Steven M. Covey, who presented the award. "In 1993, the Noels established their "Make a Mark" non-profit organization, which builds clinics, schools, and orphanages in developing countries. The Noels are changing the live of people across the world. We are thrilled to recognize John and Patty Noel and their company for the difference they have made in the lives of so many who have such great need."

The selection committee for the 1999 Humanitarian Service Awards included various leaders of the Franklin Covey Company representing a wide spectrum of Franklin Covey clients from business, government and education. The award was presented to the Noels at the Franklin Covey Sixth Annual International Symposium in Salt Lake City. The Franklin Covey International Symposium is a gathering of more than 1500 business, government and education leaders from North America and 15 countries worldwide.
