• World's happiest countries revealed

While most travelers are happy despite which country they choose to visit, some regions boast the happiest residents, visitors and atmospheres. The Sustainable Development Solutions Network recently conducted a study to discover which areas were the overall happiest countries. According to the second World Happiness Report, people interested in Europe travel may be in luck, as the majority of the highest ranked countries fell within this area. Travelers looking to visit the world's brightest regions should consider the following three countries, which ranked as the top three happiest areas in the world:

    3. Switzerland
Replete with beautiful walking trails, scenic mountain ranges, idyllic lakes and exciting adventurous opportunities, Switzerland is the perfect destination for travelers of all varieties. As temperatures begin to rise across the region, travelers should consider moving this destination to the top of their summer travel destinations. My Switzerland reported that the Canton of Valais receives more than 2,000 hours of sunshine throughout the year, ensuring that tourists can soak the sun's rays as they enjoy the beauty of the region. Visitors to this area in Switzerland should be sure to participate in exciting activities on the Rhone River, such as white water rafting, kayaking or merely relaxing along its shores.

    2. Norway
Whether you're interested in viewing the Northern lights or your children want to see the land that inspired the Oscar-winning film "Frozen," people of all ages can enjoy the splendor of Norway. Visit Norway recommended that travelers venture to the city of Oslo, which houses some of the country's most famous attractions. Visitors who prefer historical venues should visit the Akershus Fortress, which displays artifacts and information pertaining to the city's past in its many museums. Those looking for a rich, cultural experience should drop by the Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, which houses 212 sculptures crafted by artist Gustav Vigeland, and welcomes more than 1 million tourists each year.

    1. Denmark
Ranked as the No. 1 happiest country in the world, Denmark is home to some of the most scenic and beautiful sights on Earth. Tourists can enjoy activities such as cycling the countryside and tasting the delicious food year-round, but the country boasts a number of seasonal events that attract millions of visitors. According to Visit Denmark, one of the country's biggest draws of 2014 will be the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Copenhagen. The contest takes place in a different country each year and is one of the most highly popular television shows in Europe. Tourists can purchase tickets to the event to experience firsthand how passionate residents of the area can be.
